Mount Royal National Park

Adjoining the south western edge of Barrington tops is Mount Royal National Park – a unique wilderness area that’s home to rare and threatened birds, mammals and reptiles including the Rufous Scrub Bird, Hastings River Mouse and the Rough Scaled Snake. Around 20 percent of this magnificent park is rainforest and your likely to see Kangaroos, Wallabies, Koalas and even Bandicoots living in the park. |

For the traveller, Mount Royal is easily accessible and provides a scenic place to enjoy picnicking, bushwalking and bird-watching. Stop to camp or picnic at Youngville Picnic area or enjoy a host of walking tracks accessible from Mount Royal road. Make sure to visit Pieries Peak lookout for the best views overlooking the tall open forests.
