The Writers Festival will feature a number of exciting events across the October Long Weekend. Some of these include:
Jane Rutter ‘An Irish Fantasy’ – playing at Gundy Soldiers Memorial Hall, 7pm Saturday 4th October. This will be a not-to-be-missed evening featuring Australia’s very own Queen of the Flute, Jane Rutter. Jane will be performing pieces from her number one album “Fire and Water – An Irish Fantasy”. Tickets are $45 per person and include the show and supper. Tickets are available for purchase from Muswellbrook Physiotherapy and Serendipity Scone.
The Panel – Sunday 5th October 2.30pm at Scone Library. Hear the panel debate ‘The Future of the printed word’. Facilitated by Jill Emberson, the panel will comprise of Phillip Adams, Leonie Rogers, Kate Mailer, Mike Pritchard, Anthony Scully and Dom Knight.
Other exciting events over the weekend include readings, lunches and talks with authors such as Anne and Tony Bishop, Scott Bevan, James Brown and Patrice Newell. For those wishing to participate in a little physical activity, the Mark Twain Historical Walk on Saturday 4th of October may be just the thing.
